Non-medical in-home care

Medication Reminders for Seniors at Home

Missed or doubled doses are a common reason seniors end up in the hospital. Gentle reminders help prevent that.

Trusted medication Reminders for Seniors at Home

Medication reminders for seniors help older adults take their medicines at the right times. Many people manage several prescriptions with different schedules, and it is easy to forget a dose or take one twice. Our caregivers provide friendly, timely reminders during visits.

Reminders are a non-medical service. Caregivers remind clients when it is time to take medication that has already been organized, for example in a pill organizer set up by the client, a family member or a pharmacist. They can also remind clients about refills and upcoming appointments.

If a caregiver notices a missed dose, a change in behavior or a possible side effect, they let the family know so it can be raised with the doctor.

Questions & answers

Medication Reminders FAQs

Still have questions? Call us at 561-652-2017.

Can a companion caregiver give medication?

No. Medication reminders are a non-medical service. Caregivers remind clients to take medication they manage themselves. Administering medication or injections must be done by a licensed medical provider.

Who sets up the pill organizer?

The client, a family member or a pharmacist usually sets up the organizer. Many pharmacies offer pre-sorted blister packs, which work well with reminders.

What happens if a dose is missed?

The caregiver follows the plan you agreed with the client's doctor and lets the family know right away.
